To live is an awfully big adventure

When I saw the movie Peter Pan, two things made me cry:

1) The frustration and disappointment and heartbreak Peter must have gotten for eternity. After that Fairy Dance and that Mother-Father pet names and sweet, awkward 'Darn-I-think-I-like-her" side glances, the fact that Wendy Darling decided to grow up and leave him, knowing that he'd be watching her grow up and get married and have kids of her own is just... gut-wrenching, tear-jerking, purely heart-breaking. I wouldn't survive that kind of heartbreak. <////////////////3

2) Regret. Hahaha. I felt so down after watching the movie, it was like holding something so precious in your hands and being enchanted by its beauty... In spite of the fact that you know perfectly well it's going to slip away sooner or later and leave you feeling cold and sad and so empty inside. I cried after watching it. :'(

I can go on forever about how brokenhearted this film made me feel, but let's not end this post on that note. One good thing I've realized is that guys with pretty eyelashes...

...never fail to make my knees go weak/restore my faith in fairies and all things wonderful. ♡

I don't want this weekend to end

I just don't feel like going to school when the breeze starts to smell of Christmas. Rawr!

School's so and so. Nothing exciting happening. Even the teachers seem like they didn't get over the sembreak, or are simply biding their time 'til December 16. HAHAHAHAHA.

Anyway, my whole weekend was spent bonding with our family. One of my fave cousins got married last saturday!!! She gave me my first taste of French macarons. Just to tell you how excited I was about them, I snapped pictures of ze babies with my brother's phone... but his memory card was reformatted about an hour ago. :| But all the same, I'm officially in love with macarons. 8D

Yum. I didn't take this picture, though. :P

Today another family thing, dinner with the clan 'cause it's my uncle's birthday. I never realized how interesting it is to sit with all your aunts around a table. I learned a lot of things, from family business updates to upcoming family gatherings to worries about philandering husbands...all discussed in good spirit, of course! :))

Annnd, with Bonifacio day falling on a wednesday and the Bonifacios of Montalban coming to the city, I'm sure the wednesday holiday won't be spent lounging around in my pajamas.

November is officially Family Month in this household. B-)

My past is catching up with me!

Ha, ha, and ha. ColourLovers has recently installed a Martha Stewart Living color match-up button, so that interior designers and domestic goddesses would find it easier to find paint that matches the colours they see online. But HAHAHA this is too much. Just... too much. =)) Marj, I know you're so gonna get this one. :))

Is the Universe trying to tell me something here? @-)

Earl Grey Tea and LSD

This made me happy today, aside from the fact that I just found out Titanic will be shown in 3D on April 6, 2012. :))

Have a great weekend, person-out-there-reading-my-blog. Thank you for putting up with my mood swings, colorphilia, and bad writing! You are a saint. :))

The process of turning this...

Into this...

Felt good! I hope it makes you smile at the very least. :))

Have a great weekend! It's 1am and I have a student at 9am later on. HAHAHA. :))

Happiness starts at the breakfast table.

I had a wonderful start to my day. Aside from the fact that it's NSTP day (hello, 1pm class; hello, early dismissal), at breakfast I realized that the bakery across the street (or someone somewhere downtown) makes kickass bicho. It's crusty on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Not to sweet, with only the slightest kiss of sugar glaze. And not that oily, too, despite the fact that this thing is supposed to be fried, much like a doughnut. I had it with some coffee and sunshine coming in through the window, and I immediately felt knew that this is gonna be a good day. :>

The epic rant post I never really thought I'd be angry enough to post

The fact that I can't do anything epic with my life is kinda frustrating. :|

I was trying t--------------
Do you know how annoying it is when your younger brother plays kuya? :| :| :|

Case study 1: Conversation between a sister who finds blogging very therapeutic and liberating, and her younger brother who believes in an egalitarian society (I can't use the pc/divert my anger and frustration into a more positive course of action, neither can you), and does not know that her sister's blog description denotes that she hates waking up early.

Younger Brother: *passes by pc, hits sister at the back of her head* MA SI ***** NAGLALARO NA NAMAN O.
Sister: Hindi ako naglalaro, nagbblog ako.
Younger Brother: Tapos ayaw mong gumising ng maaga. Wag kang magrereklamo pag ginising kita bukas ah.
Sister: Bakit ikaw ang gigising sa'kin? Mas magiging maganda naman araw ko (and the rest of my week) kung si Ma eh.
Younger Brother: E gusto ko eh.
Sister: AASDFGHJKLFDSAGHJKJHGFDSASDFGHJKJHGDSASDFGHJKJHGDSDFGHJHGFDSJH.

Case study 2: Conversation between a mother who has a 9 to 5++ work day and is thus sleep-deprived, and her son who loves his mother very much, but cannot---will not---let that fact stand in the way of his early arrival at school for the flag ceremony.

Son: E sisihin nyo sina Patty at Liza. Yang mga yan, ambagal tas ako naman malelate tas atatatatatataaa....

Case study 3: Conversation between a middle-child who has a card-giving thing at her school tomorrow, and the family bunso who just knows how to do every single thing right and wants to point that out to his sibling whose birth order makes her very susceptible to middle-child syndrome.

Younger Brother: Cardgiving mo bukas ah.
Older Sister: Onga. Pupunta si Ma.
Younger Brother: Last time hindi mo pinapunta sina Ma sa cardgiving ah. Ikaw, baka mamaya may bagsak ka na tas di mo lang sinasabi...
Older Sister: Kung may bagsak ako e di sana pinadalan na sina Ma ng sulat. At hindi sila nakapunta kasi nagpacheck-up si Ma.
Younger Brother: Suuuuus. Oo ganyan ka. Kung alam ko lang, hindi ka gumagawa ng homework, seatwork, binabagsak mo quizzes mo, bagsak bagsak ka...Atatatatataaa...

Case study 4: Conversation between a very very very frustrated sister, and her younger brother who cannot sense frustration through an inch of wooden wall paneling.

Younger Brother: PAAAAAAT. Bakit ba hindi ka kahapon nagblog? Ipapablock ko yang website na yan eh.. *to other* Liza, iblock mo nga yung website na yun. Atatatatatatatataaaa....
Sister: @_________________________________@
--temporary silence--
Younger Brother: *nagpaparinig* HINDI AKO MAKATULOG. ANG INGAY NUNG KEYBOARD.

----------------------------------------------------------

This is how I get to start my week: fed up, frustrated, and totally annoyed.

For the love of all things bright and beautiful

I'm not really an Owl City fan, it just sounds so... poetic.

Visual Poetry!

With this happy-looking post, I bid farewell to Sembreak 2011. Ours was a very short love affair, sadly, but I am clinging to the hopes that your cousin Christmas Break will take me for a longer ride. :))

Injecting as much French into this post as possible

My pre-school teacher, whom I adore very much (she's the reason behind my lifelong pursuit of a UP diploma) has named her newborn baby Amélie, partially after herself (she's called Amel, short for Pamela), and also after Audrey Tatou's character in the French movie Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain  (I said I was gonna watch it this sembreak; I have failed again). Asdfghjkl such a pretty name! I suddenly feel so ashamed of wanting to name my future kid Sputnik. :|

Little Amélie from the movie.
I shall visit little Amélie and her mum before things in this little world of mine start to become hectic again. Have I mentioned that my schedule is asdfghjkl? My classes start at 10 or 11:30 or 1, my day ends at 4 or 5:30. I am soooo lucky. :| :| :| :| <--- Sarcasm

I am also abusing the straight-faced emoticon here, FB having recently removed it from the chat emoticons. Rawr. :| :| :|

I've come around to cleaning my room too, by the way (finally!). It is now prepared to weather the second sem storm (I honestly want to believe that with all my heart). Pray that things go smoothly this time. Bonne chance to me.

So I have this story...

Which was inspired by random people adding up my Y!M account. I really don't remember the day I first came up with it, but since then the plot has, well, thickened into something more complicated and detailed (thanks to Justin, Marj, Theresa, and David!). It was such a big part of the last few months of my Pisay life.

And then we graduated.

The first few days of summer I was determined to actually write it. I had put up a Story Wall (yes, I was that serious about it) and I wrote character profiles and plot elements on Post-it notes. It was a BIG web. :))

Summer passed and no new elements were added to the plot. Soon the story was set aside to make room for college enrollment stuff (Hi mom). And then came the time when I had to take down the Post-it notes.

That was me giving up, right?
(tama ba yung grammar?)

//first sem. asdghjklkjhgfdsdfghj.

THEN ONE DAY, OUT OF GKW, I THREW THE POST-IT NOTES. @_____________@ WHYYY?

Maybe I felt like I had to get over that phase. But what I did not realize (until last night) was that a part of me had died when I decided to let it go. Sigh.

A thousand miles between us.

This song reminds me of that day our batch flew balloons and got sunburned and had a bonfire. It also falls under the Summer-is-a-heartbreaker genre.

Makes me feel happy and sad at the same time.

Apparently, Man Ray wasn't just Mermaid Man's archenemy.

He was also a photographer. Great creative concepts never fail to make my knees go weak.

Tears.
